How does someone become a body language expert?

Rouse also examined the body language of Prince Andrew during his disastrous Channel 4 interview. What was the Prince’s body language saying, or ‘shouting’ in his case?

Do high profile people, like political leaders, know that body language experts are examining them? And do they pay people to help them hide the truth that their body reveals?

Can Rouse give an example of a high profile person that he finds very difficult to read?

When it comes to leadership in business, what are the big mistakes in terms of body language for CEOs?

And finally, Rouse has often sat opposite a criminal. When he is studying someone accused of a serious crime, what is he looking for?

  • The MindFul Leadership Episode 25 With Dr Dawson Church

Dr Dawson Church. Dawson would welcome the opportunity to be a guest on your podcast, Mindful Leadership.

Dawson's newest book Bliss Brain was published by Hay House late last year.

For more of his business-focused interviews and presentations, here are some topics he can address: Presentations – Dawson Church

And here are some additional details about the book and Dawson! :)

    Press Release:

Extraordinary Brain States Transform Ordinary People

New MRI and EEG research use advanced imaging tools to map how our brain activity changes as we shift our awareness. Paying attention, relaxing, meditating, focusing, and mood are among the many states of awareness that change brain function.

In a new book called Bliss Brain, award-winning science writer Dawson Church focuses on positive and negative mood. Negative thinking is associated with the activation of brain regions like the mid prefrontal cortex, the "seat of self." Positive emotions such as altruism and compassion light up the insula, key to social interactions.

Blending cutting-edge neuroscience with the stories of people who've had firsthand experience of brain change, Bliss Brain examines the effects of emotional states on brain structure. Neural plasticity—the discovery that the brain is capable of rewiring itself—is now widely understood. But what few people have grasped yet is how quickly this is happening, how extensive brain changes can be, and how much control each of us exerts over the process by our thinking.

Bliss Brain reviews studies that provide remarkable evidence of rapid and radical brain change. In just eight weeks of meditation practice, 12 minutes a day, brain remodelling begins. Over time, these structural changes in brain anatomy make us calmer, happier, and more resilient.

During deep meditation, Church shows how "the 7 neurochemicals of ecstasy" are released in our brains. These include anandamide, a neurotransmitter that's been named "the bliss molecule" because it mimics the effects of THC, the active ingredient in cannabis. Meditation also boosts serotonin and dopamine; the first has a chemical structure similar to psilocybin ("magic mushrooms"), the second to cocaine. He shows how cultivating these elevated emotional states literally produces a self-induced high.

The foreword is by Dave Asprey, of "Bulletproof" fame. The book includes numerous "Deeping Practices" that apply this brain science to a practical self-transformation program. Presenting the latest research in non-technical language understandable to a lay audience, Bliss Brain makes an intriguing case for the potential each of us has to rewire our brains for happiness.

  • The Global Sales Leader Episode 13 with Dorie Clark - Get your best ideas heard in a noisy world.

In this episode, Dorie tells us how she re-calibrated her life and started her own business and understood how she could learn from some of the most successful entrepreneurs and how she can learn from them so we can grow.

We looked at how we can become recognised, set ourselves apart from others, be recognised for what we do, and build social proof. Meaning what your social proof is, and if you're worth listening to, one of the things I did was to be recognised by universities.

The key is to understand what they find exciting and what stands out for sales professionals. People don't want to realise from salespeople that they know the suits of products and options.

Dorie Clark helps individuals and companies hear their best ideas in a crowded, noisy world. She has been named one of the Top 50 business thinkers globally by Thinkers50. In addition, she was honoured as the #1 Communication Coach by Marshall Goldsmith, Leading Global Coaches Awards and one of the Top 10 Communication Professionals in the World by Global Gurus. She is a keynote speaker and teaches Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Columbia Business School. She is the author of Entrepreneurial You, named one of Forbes' Top 5 Business Books of the Year and Reinventing You and Stand Out, named the #1 Leadership Book of the Year by Inc. magazine.

A former presidential campaign spokeswoman, Clark has been described by the New York Times as an "expert at self-reinvention and helping others make changes in their lives." She is a frequent contributor to the Harvard Business Review and consults and speaks for Google, Yale University, and the World Bank. Forbes has declared that "her insights connect marketing, social media, communications, learning technologies, and personal discovery to give us a blueprint for success in the future economy."

  • The Global Sales Leader Podcast episode 14 Paul Rutter perfect customer experience

After spending over 25 years in the hospitality industry, Paul has discovered how to go beyond a "perfect" customer experience. By teaching his audience to stop viewing perfect as an end goal and instead see it as a starting line, Paul encourages companies to stop settling for delivering merely "perfect" service.

Over the past three decades, as a Senior Executive, Paul has managed and guided some of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships globally, taking him to speak on stages all over the globe where living with his customers, clients, and co-workers was a way of life. His time on the high seas has taught him that through approaching customer service with the intent to exceed his customer's expectations rather than meet them, higher levels of customer satisfaction, retention, loyalty, and repeat business can be experienced.

Paul is the author of "Repeat Business, Inc: The Business of Staying in Business", an Advanced Communicator in Toastmasters International, and a member of the National Speakers Association.

Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Boston University and spent years as an educator before joining the hospitality industry. His classroom time gave him the skills to command a room and conduct productive and efficient workshops.

    [ As featured on Forbes.com   ]

The way we think: the drive for game-changing clarity and performance.

When it comes to growth, you're either trying to dominate the sales and revenue landscape, or you're doing it wrong. Without this mindset, you're applying the wrong approach and orientation toward performance.

A similar thought process must exist for your internal culture too. Without setting your sights on remarkable unity - based on unmitigated Simplicity - you're not challenging your people enough or in the right way. Everyone has to be on the same page, or the organization will lose money, efficiency, collective confidence, and strategic focus every day you're conducting business. This is a disservice to yourself and your clients.

So then, the goals can only be to dominate the competition and truly unify your people, or you are nearly guaranteed to underperform. The question is, how?

The best - and possibly only - way to accomplish these results is through a Simplicity framework, one designed to improve growth, culture, leadership 'mindset simultaneously', and operational efficiency.

We develop this work through Simplicity Innovation Labs.

    Your performance.

  • The Character traits of a successful seller part 1 Global sales Leader episode 26 Catherine Brown

f you don't think of sales as an honourable profession, you haven't read Catherine Brown's new book: How Good Humans Sell: The Proven Path to B2B Sales Success.

In May 2021, the book combined best sales practices with social psychology principles. It can be combined with other sales training programs to help sales professionals overcome the hesitation that keeps them from closing more businesses.

A veteran of 25+ years of B2B (business-to-business) selling, Catherine understands what it means to start and build a business during challenging times. She launched her first sales consulting firm in 2003 and now runs the sales training firm, ExtraBold Sales, where she coaches others to sell with confidence.

Her sales system includes psychology research that gets at the heart of why people don't sell effectively. She also trains on why people buy (it's not what you think!). Her process helps business owners take the frustration and worry out of business development so they can close new businesses without wasting money on one-size-fits-all sales training.

Catherine lives in Texas with her family and her boxer, Penny. She loves taking Penny for walks, reading, planning her next globetrotting adventure, watching sci-fi, and hosting dinner parties. She has a BA from Rice University and is a StoryBrand Certified Guide.

We discuss the research behind the problem and how to change that mindset.

You can be a good salesperson and a good human by remembering this: people not only buy the thing you sell but how the thing makes them feel. They're looking for status, security, or comfort.

When we asked sales professionals to rank their profession against the respectability of six other careers, sales came in last. So let's discuss what makes sales a rewarding and well-respected profession.

  • Lets Raise Your Deserve Level with Bryan Flanagan Episode 31 Part 1 GlobalSalesLeader Podcast

How can you raise your deserve level, build your confidence level, and how you can first love to make your people  .

Zig Ziglar helped and mentored Bryan when he was at his organisation for -over 26 years - you need to put your talent ahead of your passion; you have to have your ability to communicate your passion.

One of the most significant steps is selling is a process, not a personality - as we know, selling isn't telling. History is a process to understand the other person -Lead with need and not yourself.

One of the biggest things is the process takes the pressure off the person, and these steps are in Bryans books - lets the Now go and sell something - So You're new to sales.

Confirmingmarket the needs in the customer's mind is a massive tip - slow down the condition, and the customer is receptive to the market.

About Bryan began his career with 14 years of extensive experience with IBM as a super salesman, a "people" manager, and a sales instructor at IBM's national training centre.

  • Link Your Process To The Need With Bryan Flanagan part 2 episode 32 Global Sales Leader Podcast

Be good, be a good person, base your reputation on your integrity - lessons learnt by Zig Ziglar - being a good human pays off as a human.

Being constant as every interaction is a standard that you can adhere to - So if you can model yourself on excellent and make it your own, taking the significant assets being congruent with your elf-image.

Be your own self look at others but don't like them. If the principle is true and put your values -then they work for you.

Two factors in success are ego drive and empathy. You have to be connected to people; nothing has changed over the years in how and what we do equals success. We are still in the people business.

We are still helping somebody; no product is sold, helping others get what they want. Learn your profession respect your profession - Be a constant learner -Get your passion and be accountable and replace bad habits with a good one.

  • Success strategies in conversation with Chris Croft Part 2 Global Sales Leader Part 2 Episode 34

We take a deep dive into the following four strategies to help you reach success in this second part of the global sales leaders podcast.

Here we examine 5 - 8 of the eight strategies for success, which we explore in this episode.

    1) Work hard - When you are hard-working, things will fall in your favour. If you don't take action, nothing will happen.

    2) Take responsibility for what you do - no one else will own up for what you do, so take note of your sales pipelines, learning and focus. No one else can handle it for you, can you?

    3. Develop positive self-talk - Your brain is influenced by what you tell it, so if you say bad things about yourself, your brain will respond with something negative, or if you say good things about yourself, you will receive a positive response.

    4) Set yourself goals - have daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals for all facets of your life.

    5) Keep learning all the time by reading books, attending online conferences, going to coaching sessions, and so on

    6) Help others - The more you help others, the better you feel - When you're working in a sales team, help others when they need it

    7) Do it right now - this is pretty self-explanatory. Take action immediately.

8: Push yourself beyond what you're comfortable with. When asked to do a presentation or a presentation that you feel is impossible - do it, and once you do it, you start learning and growing - it's a fantastic feeling once you do it.

  • Does the traditional sales consultancy work The Global Sales Leader with Ken Lundin episode 36

How can a leader most effectively implement large-scale changes across an entire organization? What is the most crucial difference for companies to consider from the last 12 months? Does the traditional sales consulting model still work for companies? Can a company follow a specific path to guarantee growth and profits?

What does it mean to say that sales are a black box?

How can a company pivot their product to fit any market?

What happened in 2011 that has driven your passion for helping others?

Undoubtedly, sales are much harder to come by in the

"new normal" of the COVID era. On average, companies

have less than 25% of their sales staff meeting quotas

successfully. However, Ken's process is rooted in an

understanding that unusual though it may be, today's

difficulties are not unique. Businesses always have and

will always need to pivot how they connect

with and sell to their customers as times change,

with this need in mind and a keen awareness of

what is at stake for entrepreneurs? Ken is a man

on a mission - and a man with a proven track record - to

help businesses adapt and grow their sales in 2021/2022

  • Selling to the subconscious Mind with paul ross on the global sales leader podcast episode 43

In this episode, Jason and Paul discuss how to connect with your customer to the subconscious mind not by tricks but by using an effective connection that talks directly to the subconscious.

If you can be authentic and trustworthy and have the capabilities, our communications are vital to help the buyer buy what you have.

What is the ONE thing you are actually

always selling, no matter what your

    industry or business?

What are the 4 words you can use in the

the first minute of your sales presentation to

    create immediate, unbreakable rapport

    and trust?

What is the first thing about your

prospect you must focus on and take into

consideration if you want to skyrocket

    your sales?

What are "counterexamples", and how can

you use them to easily subconsciously

    erase any objection?

    How do traditional, common teachings

about mindset actually get in the way of

    your progress?

In this episode, the Soft Systems Sides to Sales, in this episode, we talk about the strategy for a cold call and what's needed to be successful.

We talk about the learning curve to be successful at cold-calling and the trials and tribulations from the failure of the cold call to making it a warm call.

The keys to successfully cold call are planning to do your research correctly by having the proper criteria in a checklist, meaning knowing about the company you're reaching out to do your due diligence via their website, social media posts, and even what's in the news plus Twitter etAlso, learners about their products and or services they offer.

Design a pitch or a script and practice the intros or your bang statement and role-play this with your peers and practice this until you don't need a script. An excellent suggestion is to have a checklist of what needs to be covered in the conversation and remember it is a conversation both sides need to speak. At this stage, you're trying to gain commitment to move forward to the next step, i.e. a meeting or talking to the brighter person who can make a decision or is an influencer.

Kets skills, Listening, asking questions, your an opener and story to evoke curiosity and the other person's emotions. But, the most significant thing is to be yourself.

  • Sales Philosophy with Mike Bosworth The Global Sales Leader Episode 45

We are talking about what led to the invention of the consultative selling process that helped others companies copy the approach.

Suppose we redefine selling as "facilitating the buying process". In that case, we can share a common objective with marketing people and eliminate the undesirable behaviours associated with salespeople - high pressure, product pushing regardless of buyer need, etc. People love to buy but hate to feel "sold".

Breakthroughs in neuroscience have determined that people don't make decisions solely based on logic; in fact, emotions play the dominant role in most decision-making processes. What Great Salespeople Do gives you the tools and techniques to influence change and win more sales.

Build better relationships and sell more effectively with a powerful sales story.

"Throughout our careers, we have been trained to ask diagnostic questions, deliver value props, and conduct ROI studies. It usually doesn't work; in the best case, we can argue with the customer about numbers - purely a left-brain exercise that turns buyers off. This book explains a better way." (John Burke, group vice president, Oracle Corporation)

"Forget music; a great story has the charm to soothe the savage beast and win over the most challenging customer. And one of the best guides in crafting it, feeling it, and telling it is What Great Salespeople Do. A must-read for anyone seeking to influence another human being." (Mark Goulston, MD, author of the number one international bestseller Just Listen: Discover the Secret to Getting Through to Absolutely Anyone)

    • Relax a buyer's scepticism while activating the part of their brain where trust is formed, and connections are forged

    • Use the power of story to influence buyers to change

    • Make your ideas, beliefs, and experiences "storable" using a proven story structure

    • Build a personal inventory of stories to use throughout your sales cycle

    • Tell your stories with authenticity and a genuine passion

    • Use empathic listening to get others to reveal themselves

    • Incorporate storytelling and empathic listening to achieve collaborative conversations with buyers

  • Determination and Grit How to succeed with Devon harries on the episode 46 on global sales leader

Devon Harris is an athlete, a member of the first Jamaican bobsleigh team, a captain of the 1992 and 1998 teams, and a three-time Olympian. Before joining the Jamaican Defence Force, Devon Harris grew up in a modest neighbourhood in Kingston, Jamaica, and graduated from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, England. Even though his dream to make it in the sport seemed like a pipe dream, Harris found a way to make it happen through drive and determination.

His sports accomplishments with the Jamaican bobsleigh team inspired the "Cool Runnings" blockbuster Disney film. In addition, Devon's trademark courage has made him a successful international motivational speaker. Around the world, Devon Harris spreads his "Keep on pushing" philosophy, which has helped professionals from multiple Fortune 100 companies in various industries and non-profit organisations, schools, and universities. Ideal personal responsibility for these uncontrollable experiences of you deciding how you're going to deal with things and pick yourself a result is to think even understeer stress.

This is a thing you have to master as it can take time, but it's worth doing. Look at someone who inspires you, and if they have done it, so why can you? That's a piece of great advice once we have that in our heads.

In sales, persistence and urgency are critical to our success, but we also need to learn from our mistakes, keep learning and growing, and build results.

Part of the thing is that we are making progress and celebrating small wins along the way so that we know we've travelled the path to the best we can beWith everyone I speak to and including myself, I do work. I love to do this, but it does take work and massive effort to do what we love to do to get into our FLOW states. So IF HE CAN'T DO IT, SO CAN I; find someone that inspires you.

  • The Mind For Sales with Mark Hunter on episode 47 on the global sales leader podcast

Im talking with Mark Hunter on my podcast, and we discuss in great detail what it takes to be a top performer in sales and what mindset you need to achieve the highs and lows.

Why are you in sales? This message still sits in Mark's brain as he sits down with his mentor and asks an important question to change how you sit and think.

Building effective relationships are core to every sale. Once you build this, everything changes.

Sales are all about having a mind; sales isn't a step by step process. It's an emotion. The most challenging thing you can ever do is to master your mind; you have to believe in the outcome you make. But, once you focus on the development and know that you can help people find what they want, everything changes what you do.

There is no reason to think that your mind isn’t capable of doing amazing things.

Incredibly, your mind could ever tell you, “You can’t do this. You can’t do this.” But, unfortunately, that’s what most average salespeople hear.

However, the top-performing salesperson has a mindset that says, “I can find a way to do this.” Is your own mindset in that place? How does your mind measure up to these 7 truths?

TRUST is the currency of business - How do I demonstrate this - authenticity and focused on you. all I want to do is help you.?

  • Science of success Nobel prize winner Robert Lefkowitz the global sales leader podcast episode 49

This podcast isn't about sales, but it's the science of what it takes to be at the top of your game which tells us lessons on how and what it takes to be successful. At the very core, all of these lessons are transferable to any industry and will empower you to be at the very top of your own game.

Is it possible to determine whether or not you're successful? To be at the top of your game and in the elite of the elite, what does it take to be a noble prize winner? The ability to push through adversity and know that what you are doing makes sense and that your mindset is unstoppable takes a particular type of person.

According to Dr Lefkowitz, one of the most influential factors for future success is not where one went to school or trained but who one's mentors were. In most activities, the true determinants of success can't be learned from books and classes. As a result, they must be acquired experientially by working with a mentor whose values and approaches one gradually internalizes."

Adapt mentoring to each individual's needs

One size does not fit all when it comes to mentoring. Emphasize your mentee's strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

    Encourage them to be focused.

By embracing failure, you promote strategic risks, leading to high rewards. But, on the other hand, if you're not failing, you're not thinking big enough, which means you're not taking enough risks.

    Be tenacious and persistent.

Lead by example and model the actions and behaviours you value instead of expecting your mentees to do things you wouldn't do yourself.

    Make trainees feel empowered.

Mentors who encourage their mentees to pursue their ideas rather than following their mentor's objectives create the most significant level of motivation.

    Use storytelling to motivate.

A story is not formed from data alone. Instead, you impose the story upon the data. Therefore, empower your mentee to have a significant role in the ongoing narrative.

    Laugh and enjoy the process.

Humour and laughter can lead to creativity because humour demands unusual connections between things. In addition, it makes the workplace fun, so people want to come in and join in the fun.

    Show respect for your mentors.

Once a mentor, always a mentor. Do not forget who helped you get there despite all of your successes. Reach out to them and keep in touch.

Time slips into the flow state when you know you love what you do, and nothing else matters apart from getting to where you need to be.

  • Make that connection Drew Boyd Episode 50 Global Sales Leader Podcast with Jason Cooper

In this episode of the 50th episode of the global -  we speak with Drew Boyd. He is a professor and has an eccentric and practical experience in a business which helps give him valuable advice to teach well.

When you think of sales, think about how to be more creative and how Creativity is not magic; it's a process. Anyone can follow the steps and find new ideas when following the formula. Drew Boyd can help you harness the power of Creativity by giving you the method of inventive thinking. Do more than brainstorm. Embed systematic innovation into your sales organization's culture.

How can you improve the quality of your ideas and share your opinions with others and not just yourself once you help share the ideas? Do we all grow and all build a revenue?

Help people be more self-aware by using your DISC profile or something like that - the more you understand yourself, the better you can serve others with your business services. This takes time and effort and builds a growth mindset and how to build better relationships with others.

One of the other behaviours of Creativity is how we can use the brain isn't what if we turn this around to solutions first and then to the problem they solve. Humans are better than that, as we know. This podcast is an excellent example of using the limbic system based on how emotions work to think of an idea.

You will love Drew Boyd's ideas of how we can think inside the box, which is the title of one of his books.

  • Human behavior in Sales Culture with Gareth Chick

This is episode 53, and Im speaking with a good friend Gareth Chick, and we are talking about human behaviour within sales Culture.

This podcast discusses Coaching, Culture, human behaviour, Emotional intelligence, and people change in leadership.

Gareth is passionate about people and culture within organisations, and his love is for coaching/training people when under pressure.

Gareth is passionate about people and culture within organisations, and his love is for coaching/training people when under pressure.

We must think and change our actions to change our unconscious controlling habits.

    i.e

I smother the guys, believing I can do it quicker and better."

"I am impatient; I railroad through which is immensely frustrating for them."

"I go from standstill to red hot in the blink of an eye."

"I can be direct, verging on rude, when people put up barriers

"When things kick off, I defend my team; I don't feel I deal with their shortcomings."

"I expect my team to be mindreaders; then I get frustrated when it's clear they've not grasped the situation."

"I'm too laid back and then end up being a whirlwind"  "I'm impatient and may come across as arrogant."

"I'm too laid back; I don't delegate enough, which makes it tough when deadlines change". `

First, we believe we need a considerable amount of time to change. Secondly, we fool ourselves into thinking we will get that time when the world settles down. In the meantime, our people get used to our ways and seem to forgive us for them, thus reducing the imperative for us to change.

The biggest problem is that we do not know how to change our behaviour when we feel pressured and frustrated and still get the job done. We are locked into a world of unchanging behaviours, so we tell ourselves that all we can do is work harder and longer, and so is the vicious downward spiral.

It can't be helpful to managers and leaders who want their teams to do well. This is because we are conditioned to do this and learn to control these habits, so we can empathically listen to others. Person.

We must help ourselves to help our people and teams think calmly and strategically, and we must take time out.

It may be as little as 2 minutes or as long as you like. However, managers need to be present to understand themselves better and guide and coach others with some insightful questions. They must actively listen to what they are saying to achieve their goals. And help them achieve their goals. Or actions.

Regardless of how much pressure you may be under, it's essential to spend quality time each week working with your teams. As a result, you can perform better overall, enabling you to be more effective.

Our emotional intelligence plays a crucial part in empowering you and your team. Our people skills have the potential to assist you internally within your organisation and in changing the culture within your organisation to help you.

What motivates your teams, and how do you help them when things don't go so well so you can inspire them to achieve more?

Listen to this, plus so much more. I am sure you will love the compelling ideas of how to strengthen and impact your sales teams and organisation culturally and emotionally. Im sure you will love using our brains to be more effective at what we do.

  • Develop Trust with clients with Robin Dreeke Global Sales Leader episode 56 - Jason Cooper

People like people and brands that they like and trust but also connect with.

Today Im speaking with Robin Dreeke on this week's episode of the global sales leader with Jason Cooper

In addition to being a best-selling author, professional speaker, trainer, and facilitator, Robin is a retired FBI Special Agent and the Chief of the Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program. Robin has taken the art of leadership, communication, and relationship building and broken it down into the Five Steps to TRUST. Combined with the Six Signs of Who You Can TRUST, Robin has worked with large and small corporations. Robin has crafted his People Formula for quick results and maximum success, whether it is newly promoted leaders, executives, sales teams, or customer relations.

In this episode, we discuss Dreeke's simple, six-step system that helps you predict anyone's future behaviour based on their words, goals, patterns of action, and the situation at hand.

    You'll better understand how to:

quickly and easily determine who they can trust and who they can't

who is likely to deliver on promises, and who will disappoint

and when a person is vested in your success vs when they are actively plotting your demise.

Trust is one of the essentials to get physiological elements of comfort in others. So when you like others - your main goal is to help your clients feel safe in you and what you think and feel about how you can connect your personality with the brand you are working with.

The very top salespeople and leaders are doing it at such a high level of great deep empathy and without reciprocation and thinking about the other person and without an expectation - the best in the world's highest function to be of service to others - we get personal rewards to feel great when we are of service - once we gain the personal brand to help build healthy relationships that last so that your a trusted advisor to the needs of others.

Being natural and having the people skills - making things personal and getting the back story of others, and building your due diligence before you connect with the other person.

We speak with Robin about how he has learnt how to build the elements of trust and connection from his training as an FBI investigator and what he has done to recruit spies - having this ability to make a connection with people that didn't want to work with the US government but not by influence but by the elements of TRUST.

  • Communicate effectively with non-verbals in sales Dr Abbie Maroño Ep 57 Global Sales Leader

Our non-verbals tell us more about ourselves even before we speak, and it takes an average of a few seconds to decide whether we should trust someone or not if we are to cooperate with them.

We will gain their trust by establishing a solid connection with the other person through our nonverbal communication. In this episode of The Global Sales Leader Podcast, I speak with Dr Abbie Marono.

She is a scientist and practitioner in human behaviour, with a PhD in psychology and academic research focusing on trust, cooperation, and the psychological mechanisms underpinning human decision-making.

Trust is vital as survival depends on our ability to cooperate with others. To determine someone's trustworthiness, what signals should we look for? Is it possible to trust ourselves? What are the first steps to building trust? With her extensive experience and scientific validation, Dr Abbie brings a unique perspective to this discussion.

When we are in sales, we need to be as effective as possible with our clients by demonstrating our confidence in what we do. We need to display our body language in a way that communicates trust, connection, and knowing that we will meet their needs. During the interaction with a prospective client, you speak on two levels – verbally and nonverbally.

When negotiations get tricky or subtle personality conflicts arise, verbal exchanges may not be the most critical element.

It is imperative to monitor your prospects' engagement and disengagement behaviours during any sales presentation. If the latter occurs, you indicate interest, receptivity, or agreement. In contrast, the latter is resistant, defensive, disagreeable, and even hostile.

Enjoy and learn more in this episode and improve your non-verbal communication with your customers and clients.

When you work together in collaboration, the leader helps you improve your skills and get better at what you do. You're coached so that you find answers that lead to success for your team.

Being aware of yourself first will enable you to be a more authentic leader. Next, you need to understand your team and work with them. OWN YOUR STORY, YOUR NARRATIVE.

  • Learn to rewire your sales Episode 62 Global Sales Leader Podcast with Adele Spraggon Jason Cooper

This week, I speak with Adele Spraggan about changing and rewiring the brain for a new way to think about sales.

You form automatic patterns and beliefs in your unconscious mind. Here is where the real power lies since it controls what happens above the surface.

The unconscious mind is the key to changing those patterns and beliefs. Here's where my four-step technique comes in.

The first step is to become aware of your patterns and beliefs. You need to understand what your brain is doing and why it's doing it. This is where you realize that your pattern of quitting is not a choice, but rather an unconscious response.

The second step is to interrupt that pattern. You need to break the neural pathway and create a new one. This is where you need to practice conscious control over your thoughts and actions.

The third step is to replace the old pattern with a new one. You need to create a new neural pathway that supports the behaviour you want to have. This is where you start speaking to yourself more kindly and positively.

And finally, the fourth step is to reinforce that new pattern until it becomes automatic. You need to practice the new behaviour until it becomes second nature.

Now, as for shortcutting the process, there really is no shortcut. It takes time and effort to change those patterns and beliefs. But with practice and consistency, it can be done. The key is to be patient with yourself and trust the process.

Ultimately, once you understand how your brain works and how to use it effectively, you can accomplish incredible things. And that's what I teach in my program – how to change the underlying patterning of your brain so that you can achieve success in whatever area you choose.

  • Revolutionize Your Sales Strategy with Deep Sales Paul Terry Global Sales Leader Podcast Episode 63 with your host Jason Cooper

Welcome to The Global Sales Leader Podcast with your host Jason Cooper, where we bring you the latest insights and trends in the world of sales leadership. In this episode, we are joined by Paul Terry, a seasoned sales leader and expert in deep sales strategies. Today, we will be discussing the intersection of deep sales and AI in the modern sales landscape.

Paul Terry leads the Enterprise business LinkedIn's Sales Solutions across EMEA & LATAM.  In this role, Paul and his team help Sales Organisations to adopt the right habits, and technology, to succeed in a rapidly changing landscape.

To start, Jason asks Paul to define what deep sales is and the importance of prioritizing this approach in modern sales leadership. Paul explains that deep sales are a response to the changing buyer landscape, where buyers have access to more information than ever before and are spending less time with salespeople. Deep sales are about going deeper on a smaller number of accounts, developing a more intimate understanding of the account and contacts within that account, and multi-threading into the organization.

Paul highlights that deep sales are the opposite of shallow selling, which is throwing lots of things at the wall and seeing what sticks. Instead, it's about getting knowledgeable about your accounts and understanding the buying committee that makes the B2B purchasing decision. Paul emphasizes that the average buying committee today is between six and ten people, and successful salespeople need to acknowledge that fact and work collaboratively with others to achieve success.

Moving on to AI, Jason asks Paul how AI can be used to enhance deep sales strategies. Paul explains that AI can be a valuable tool in helping salespeople conduct research on their target market and prioritize the accounts that give them the greatest chance of success. With AI, salespeople can analyze vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions based on those insights.

Paul also emphasizes that AI can be used to automate tasks, freeing up salespeople's time to focus on building relationships and developing a deeper understanding of their accounts. With AI handling routine tasks, salespeople can spend more time on value-added activities that require their human touch.

Jason and Paul then discuss the potential risks and downsides of using AI in sales, such as the risk of dehumanizing the sales process and losing the personal touch that is critical for building trust and rapport with clients. Paul acknowledges these risks but argues that if used correctly, AI can enhance the sales process and help salespeople build deeper, more meaningful relationships with clients.

In conclusion, Paul emphasizes that deep sales and AI are not mutually exclusive but rather can complement each other when used effectively. Deep sales are about building relationships and understanding the unique needs of each client, while AI can help salespeople conduct research and automate routine tasks. By leveraging both deep sales and AI, sales leaders can position their teams for success in the modern sales landscape.

  • Welcome to this special episode of the Global Sales Leader podcast with my Guest Mark Goulson.

Welcome to this special episode of the Global Sales Leader podcast with my Guest Mark Goulson.

Originally a UCLA professor of psychiatry for over 25 years, and a former FBI and police hostage negotiation trainer, Dr Mark Goulston’s expertise has been forged and proven in the crucible of real-life, high-stakes situations. He is the author or co-author of nine books with his book, “Just Listen,” being translated into twenty-eight languages and becoming the top book on listening in the world. He is the host of the highly-rated podcast, My Wakeup Call and the co-host of “Out of Our Minds and In Your Space” on Twitter Spaces which is a mashup for creatives and thinkers.

Welcome to the Global Sales Leader Podcast with Mark Goulston and your host Jason Cooper. In this episode, the hosts share valuable insights and strategies for successful sales, with a particular focus on understanding and connecting with customers on a deeper level. One of the key themes they explore is the importance of addressing the elephant in the room.

Sales professionals often encounter underlying concerns or objections from customers that are not voiced directly. These can range from budget constraints to scepticism about the product or service being offered. By addressing these concerns head-on, salespeople can build trust and credibility with their customers and ultimately close more deals.

Mark Goulston suggests using a hypothetical scenario to help customers visualize the potential benefits of the product or service being offered. For example, in a B2B context, a salesperson could ask a customer about their confidence level in receiving the biggest possible raise and promotion at their next performance review. By getting the customer to think about their success and how the product or service could contribute to it, the salesperson can shift the focus away from the sale itself and towards the customer's goals.

In a B2C context, a similar approach can be used, but with a focus on the customer's personal needs and desires. A salesperson could ask a customer how excited they will be to have purchased a car from their dealership in a few months. By helping the customer visualize the joy and satisfaction they will experience from the purchase, the salesperson can create a positive association with the product and build trust with the customer.

The hosts also emphasize the importance of pivoting away from the sale itself and towards the customer's success. By offering resources and connections that could help the customer achieve their goals, salespeople can demonstrate their commitment to the customer's success and build a relationship that goes beyond a simple transaction.

Overall, this episode of the Global Sales Leader Podcast provides valuable insights and strategies for anyone looking to improve their sales skills and connect with customers on a deeper level. By addressing the elephant in the room and focusing on the customer's success, salespeople can build trust and credibility and ultimately close more deals.

  • The Power Of Human Connection The Global Sales Leader Episode 65 With Joshua B Lee and Jason Cooper

The Global Sales Leader podcast with Joshua B. Lee and host Jason Cooper explores the power of human connection in today's digital age. According to Joshua, every company is run by another human being, and most marketers forget that. Once he realized this, he found his purpose and the opportunities to truly change and humanize the way we are online right now. In the podcast, Jason and Joshua delve into the importance of building real relationships with people, whether it's in person or online.

Jason and Joshua agree that too often people skip past relationship building and go straight to pitching their product or service. But the key to success lies in building a relationship first. Relationships open up opportunities and create advocates who can bring in a hundred opportunities rather than just one-to-one relationships. Advocates are powerful, and real human relationships thrive not only in person but online as well.

Joshua shares how he creates a personal brand and engages with people online. He believes that it starts with seeing yourself and combining it with how others see you. Once you start creating content, it's important to engage with people in the same way you would in person. Joshua believes that the things he does online are the same things his mother taught him about treating other human beings. Starting with appreciation is key. He likes and comments on other people's posts and reaches out to them to say thank you for their time and effort. This level of appreciation creates a stopgap in someone's pattern and allows them to be heard.

Jason and Joshua discuss how Joshua accelerated his online following from next to nothing to 75,000 followers. He attributes his success to the relationship-building techniques he uses. He does the same things for himself that he does for his clients. It's all about connecting with people who engage with your content and starting with appreciation. Joshua utilizes LinkedIn to see who engages with his content and looks at his profile. This is an opportunity to start a conversation and find out why they were interested. It's nice to be nice, and Joshua believes that by being kind and showing appreciation, you can build real relationships with people both online and offline.

The Global Sales Leader podcast is a must-listen for anyone looking to build meaningful relationships in business and life. Joshua and Jason's insights and techniques are practical and effective, and their passion for human connection is contagious.

With over 30 years of sales experience and teaching at two elite business schools, Craig brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to the table.

The episode kicks off with Craig sharing his background, having worked for IBM and his passion for sales. From there, the discussion delves into the art and science of storytelling in leadership and sales. Craig emphasizes the importance of becoming a collector and connoisseur of stories, enabling sales professionals and leaders to have a vast repertoire of narratives at their disposal.

One of the key takeaways from the conversation is the power of different types of stories. They discuss how stories can help individuals connect, understand their purpose, and rally together to overcome obstacles. Stories have the power to unite teams, align their efforts, and drive them towards a shared goal.

With a deep understanding of the neuroscience behind storytelling, Craig emphasizes the ability of stories to resonate with individuals on a fundamental level, regardless of their preferred communication style. He explains how stories engage multiple parts of the brain, triggering emotional responses and facilitating information retention. Stories have a unique way of humanizing data, making it relatable and memorable.

Jason asks Craig thought-provoking questions throughout the interview, prompting him to share his insights. In addition to discussing effective communication and authentic leadership, this conversation uncovers the neuroscience behind storytelling and its impact on sales results.

  • The Power of Critical Thinking Gap Selling with Keenan The Global Sales Leader Podcast Ep 75

Welcome to the Global Sales Leader Podcast, where we dive deep into the world of sales leadership with industry experts. In this episode, we are joined by Keenan, a renowned sales thought leader and the mind behind Gap Selling. Keenan shares his insights on the role of critical thinking in sales, the impact of artificial intelligence, and the secrets to being in the top 1% of your profession.

Unlocking the Micro Layer of AI in Sales:

In this episode, Keenan provides a unique perspective on the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the sales process. While acknowledging potential use cases at the microlayer for AI, he emphasizes that his focus is on critical thinking. Keenan argues that AI, at its current stage, cannot be a critical thinker, primarily relying on black-and-white data. He sees AI's potential in forecasting, where it can analyze finite CRM data to identify trends and make a significant difference.

    The Complexity of Selling:

Keenan passionately expresses his belief that selling is a highly complex process rooted in critical thinking. He asserts that AI falls short in understanding the nuances of each sales interaction, as no two sales are identical. Keenan challenges the notion that communication is the sole factor in sales success, emphasizing that effective communication is a highway, but critical thinking is the process that truly matters. He believes that Gap Selling is all about challenging salespeople to engage in critical thinking and problem-solving from the very beginning of the sales process.

The Essence of Likability and Credibility:

Discussing the importance of likability and credibility, Keenan challenges the conventional wisdom associated with being likeable in sales. He argues that trust, not necessarily likability, is the key element in influencing buying decisions. Keenan emphasizes the significance of credibility, believing that being credible and having the necessary skill sets are crucial for gaining trust. He debunks the idea that being likeable is essential and underscores the need for providing value and solutions that can drive change.

The Power of Critical Thinking in Sales Leadership:

Keenan delves into his leadership philosophy and highlights the critical role of critical thinking in sales leadership. He emphasizes the need for leaders to challenge their teams to think critically, take ownership of their work, and understand the root causes of challenges. Keenan believes that effective leadership involves guiding individuals to recognize the need for change and providing the tools to navigate it successfully.

    Analytical Thinkers in Sales:

Drawing on his experience, Keenan distinguishes between different types of salespeople and identifies analytical thinkers as adept at critical thinking. He contrasts them with the flashy sales methodologies of the 1980s, emphasizing the need for a deeper understanding of customers' pain points. Keenan stresses the importance of unpacking layers and identifying core issues to make a real impact on sales.

    Solution Selling and Building Trust:

Keenan discusses solution selling, drawing on principles from his book. He shares insights on the importance of trust, credibility, and understanding the customer better than they know themselves.

    Lessons from Personal Experiences:

Reflecting on his personal journey, Keenan shares experiences from his foray into golf and skiing. He emphasizes his commitment to being the best at whatever he pursues and draws parallels between his athletic endeavours and professional life. .

    Navigating Failures and Maximizing Learning:

Keenan opens up about his failures, particularly in the businesses he started before Gap Selling. He views failures as opportunities to maximize return on investment and encourages others to fail forward.

    Creating Gap Selling by Accident:

The origins of Gap Selling are revealed in a spontaneous moment during a deal review session. Keenan recounts a pivotal moment when he noticed a salesperson repeatedly citing the same issue as a roadblock in different deals.

The Power of Consistency and Deliberate Action:

Keenan shares the deliberate actions he took in building his audience through blogging. His consistency in creating valuable content for 712 consecutive days played a crucial role in establishing his presence as a thought leader.
